Liam Irwin is an independent artist from the sticks of upstate New York who writes honest unfiltered songs from the heart.
Coming up in historic Fort Edward, Liam began writing songs in earnest in 2000. After ten years of supporting other artists as a lead guitar player, bass player, and backing vocalist, Liam decided to spend more of his time writing, performing, and recording his personal efforts.
Liam stays busy: You can hear his lead guitar work with NYC Hard Rock outfit, Burning Man, as a session guitar player, and in an ever evolving list of creative projects.
Liam is best known as one half of the long-lived acoustic-based indie rock duo, Flakjacket. Flakjacket (led by Liam & vocalist Alex Hyatt) has performed over 450 times, in various haunts, and has released two original albums, "Angels & Fireflies"(2006) and "Almost Always Never" (2010) to critical acclaim.
Liam's debut record, "In Dog Years", was released in March 2013 and is available at shows, on iTunes, Amazon, and other media.
Liam's music can be reduced to dollups of pop, rock, jazz, country, folk, and remnants of the underground independent artists of the early-to-mid 90s.
You can catch Liam performing as part of a full band, in an acoustic duo, or intimately unaccompanied.
