The Liarbirds
Second Quartet EP

This four track EP from the Athenian 5 peace is their 1st official release, although the title is inspired by the fact it’s actually their second four track EP, the first (Four Thoughts EP) being a cd rom the band hand out at gigs.

Songwriters George and Jim have drawn on influences such as The Beach Boys, Love, XTC, The Byrds, Teenage Fanclub and Buffalo Springfield to create this melodic and thoughtfully constructed foursome. The lyrical content is encouraging, nostalgic, empathetic and political and the arrangements are musical journeys, some interesting middle eights do try to explore various genres.

This self-funded EP is triumph for the band in terms of releasing something pure into the market and the follow up is already being finished with a view to recording an album in 2009.
