My journey writing Christian music began in January of 2009, when God used the death of one of my parents’ friends to give me a message to relay to a grieving widow. That message (originally a poem) soon evolved into the song, “Don’t Cry for Me” (TRACK 1), which started me down the path of this music ministry, what I now refer to as “Soothing Messages for the Soul”. The song, “Don’t Cry for Me”, was created after a 20+- year cessation from songwriting. (I had previously written primarily country music in the early 90’s). The incredible comments, letters, and emails I received from people about "Don't Cry for Me" inspired me to continue writing Christian music. I have an official website and enjoy creating videos to accompany my songs (my videos can be found on YouTube on my channel name and web address of libbyallensongs).
I play by ear and fully orchestrate my songs from scratch (with the exception of the beautiful piano track played by Bobby Kennedy on "Don't Cry for Me"). Songwriting allows me the opportunity to minister to people through my music. I feel my music is an expression of me, a legacy so to speak, that can live on after I'm called home to be with the Lord. :)
I thank God for the gift of each and every song that he blesses me with, and for the messages that he allows me to relay to people. My hope is that you will be blessed by my words and music, and that you will see the hand of God in each and every song that I write.
