With so much imitation in new pop and rock music and in the blues, Lickerish brings something fresh to the stage and recordings: straightforward songs that echo classic sounds but resonate with today’s modern edge. Gasoline captures the huge energy Lickerish generates in live performances and combines it with a sensibility about our times that antiMUSIC.com calls “poignant and pertinent.”

Lickerish first appeared on the Southern California music scene in 2004. Bringing together three musicians who played the festival and club circuits in England, Texas, and Southern California, the band quickly played shows with a surprising mix of international stars from Guns & Roses’ Steven Adler to acoustic wizard David Lindley.

The band’s eclectic influences include acoustic-electric style of James Blunt, the thoughtful songwriting of John Mellencamp and John Lennon, blues giants like Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the driving rock of the U2 and Velvet Revolver.

Gasoline is the band’s debut release and showcases their great range and musical intelligence. This is a band that knows what rock and blues music mean in our times.
