He does his funkiest interpretations of funkadelics nastiest thangs, ( thuss the concept behind the title "funkadelicish" ) If you are a true "funkateer", u will get off on comparing Lige's versions of these cuts 2 the Funkadelic versions. Now,This Is Funkadelic!

If George Clinton had've put these songs on his latest cd, with group vocals and horns, that recording would have sold like wildfire. There are some major funky jams onboard here. Lige sticks to the basic Funkadelic formula, updating their early work into a soupcon of hard-hitting, dancable rock-funk. This is what P-Funkers want to hear - the old Parliament/Funkadelic sound. There was nothing wrong with the old sound; it got them into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for goodness sakes! Make my funk the P-Funk - and keep it P!

One man "Funk" show

All "props" due to lige's one man funk show. Only a true p-funk alumini could hane pulled it off (with the blessings of george). There was so much attentiveness to the rhythm and lead guitar tracks that I would think that it was sampled from the original funkadelic (blasphamy). The mutron bass had bootsy's signature thumpin' and wobble. Even bernie made several quest appearances on piano and synths (really?). There was a certain emptines where the vocals were concern. After decades of george babblin', the brides hymnin' and parliament punnin', the music seemed lacking without them. OK, I guess some samples would not have hurt. I think that's why my "funk partner" said he didn't get it. Although, I realized his point when I acknowledged that the drummin was missing the "big foot". Finally, the element that was synonymous with the (horny) funk, the horns never materialized. So to sum it up, this must have been funk appetizer to hold the funkateers for the main course. I'll take what I can get. Even when I play it in the background, people still say "Who the funk is that"? Keep up the good funk Lige. Peace Steve
