From her very first word, Light demands attention. (TAXI Custom Critique)

LIGHT IS...a source of illumination!

The same definition can be used to describe Eve Walker or as she's known in the hip-hop arena, Light&- the female gospel rap minister who is illuminating the word of God through Christian rap. Light brings the truth and points the way to purpose in anointed and exciting messages through song to encourage the Body of Christ and introduce Christ to those who live aimlessly without Him. Light shares a testimony that glorifies God and leaves no excuses for anyone who is caught up in the street life.

Before she accepted Christ and joined the Street Ministry Music Family, Light was a Hip-Hop artist with a thug past and a thug mentality. Light has shared the stage with many national artists in the secular arena such as "The Wu-Tang Clan,Outkast and Usher just to name a few. While living in Ohio and New York, Light experienced a number of close calls(definitely and understatement), and God began to prepare her for ministry. Her lifestyle, image lyrics began to change. So did her name. Light was short for Lightskin, a name given to her by some fellow rap peers. Lights first single release was a secular project titled Ruckus and Indo in 1995. Light says, It's not a project that I'm proud of but it stands as a testimony. I haven't always been saved. Now -Light- stands on the scripture Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes in darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. Light says, I want my ministry to speak life purpose to those who need a life changing word; therefore I must always make sure the light is on and I must be 1st partaker of what I rhyme.

The rap ministry is just a launching pad for Light from an Evangelist standpoint. I can't stop until there is no one left to reach says Light. Fame and monetary gain is not the focus for this Evangelist. My goal is to go triple platinum, not in sales but in souls. That's what motivates this Light. This ministry will play a major role in tearing down the walls of tradition in the church.

Light is a faithful and active member of Potter's House Ministries in Braddock, PA. under the leadership of Sr. Pastor, Bishop Otis L. Carswell. Light is a 2001 School of Ministry graduate and has great vision for the youth. She is also the winner of the best rap artist category at the 2002 WAMO Talent Showcase in Pittsburgh and an African American Awards Show best gospel performer nominee for 2002.
