With the release of her 2nd CD, Light - Elise Azevedo’s project ‘Sugarless’ demonstrates the breadth of her talent and makes it abundantly clear that she has found her passion and is simply having fun. Working alongside producer Tim Ellis, she has managed to combine her past with the present in an honest, clean and captivating fashion using a combination of world-folk-jazz influence. Her performance is that of a versatile and talented singer - songwriter. American in origin, Light – Elise Azevedo fell in love with Portugal during her travels and has called Lisboa her home since 1996. With her first double Cd Afflicted (2006) she claimed her place as a quality songwriter in Portuguese, as well as her native language English. A mix of contemporary folk rock to jazz provided the background to her honest, earthy presence and lyrics calling attention to the pain of those left on the outside of society. Her unique and powerful voice continually catches her audience off guard.
