The legendary LIME SPIDERS first exploded into the unsuspecting ears of the music public in the post-punk era of the early 80's. Described by US Rolling Stone as "the Sex Pistols on acid", the Spiders' sound is inspired by everything from 60's punk/pop/psychedelia, to the more innovative and eclectic 70's rock and late 70's punk.
The hybrid combined the most extreme elements of all these influences to create a monster - a sonic assault of unparalleled intensity. Fueled by the brutal rhythm section of Richard Lawson (drums) and Tony "Chief" Bambach (bass) and slabs of gut-wrenching guitar, courtesy of Gerard Corben, Mick Blood found a platform from which to unnerve people with his razor-edged vocals.
To celebrate the release of THE LIME SPIDERS' long awaited album, "LIVE AT THE ESPLANADE", a scorching set including 2 previously unreleased songs, "Society Of Soul" & "The Dead Boys". This monster is scheduled for release on 27 October through Aussie label Figtree Words and Music, distributed by Inertia, with huge Australian tour to follow.
The band's eyes are on Europe for the 2008 festival season too - visit their MySpace page: www.myspace.com/officiallimespiders for updates!

REAL sound of the 80's!
author: William Smith
An extremely well recorded live album that captures the power of The Lime Spiders. I played the hell out of them back in my college radio days ('85 - '90) and this recording from 1998 sounds even better than the originals. Truly a band that more people should know about!! Viva Lime Spiders!!
