Album Notes

Hard to categorize, Lina's sound crosses several music genres including Jazz, R&B, Hip-hop, Gospel and Pop. A lyricist, Lina's depth puts you in the mind of Lauren Hill or Mos Def. A musician's musician, who sings in eight languages, Lina writes all her songs. Her delivery is sometimes reminiscent of jazz great Billie Holiday. Her artsy, funky style reminds you of Erykah Badu or Jill Scott. Her out-of-the-box-hard-to-label persona is on the level of a Macy Gray. But she's an original. Her sound is fresh and in its own lane.

Morning Star delivers an easy-to-listen-to treasure of music that satisfies track after track. Personal anthems can be found in this artwork, including "Wake Up" and "Breakthrough". Broken heart therapy in the track "Good Day". And fun dance cuts like "Feel The Love". Morning Star gives what the people want, good vibes to which one can relate; it's a hit.

I have always been a fan of her work and like fine wine her craft gets better with each album. The eclectic blend of the new and old sounds of soul music are masterfully blended to produce a euphoric album. Despite not having the commercial spot light on her, Lina never seases to shine with her angelic to give her audience what the waant and deserve-real music. Whether you call it Neosoul, Soul or R&B this is a must have for your collection.
