Album Notes

Linda Dewar's rich, textured vocals are the perfect medium for the songs on "Where the Heart Is." Whether it's the longing of a homesick emigrant in "Canadian Settler's Lament," or the exhuberant joy of springtime in "Yellow on the Broom," her voice paints a vivid picture in the mind of the listener.

The album definitely benefits from the addition of backing musicians who are some of the best in the business. Donnie Macdonald and James Keigher(Men of Worth)provide a variety of instrumentals as well as backing vocals. Scottish fiddler John Taylor proves once again that he’s among the very best in the genre. And bassist Glenn Cornick (Jethro Tull, Wild Turkey) is a genius at knowing just what to play and when.

If you buy CD’s instead of downloading because you like having the inserts, then you won't be disappointed with this album. Linda has written liner notes for every song in addition to including the lyrics and some intriguing photos.

Linda Dewar has honed her talent performing live at Scottish venues. She has a beautiful voice and is a wonderful musician . Her arrangements are haunting. Her first solo album is a listening joy.
