Album Notes

Another danceable CD by Dancetime With Linda & Roland.

This CD's title song, Ode To The Sutliff Bridge, was inspired by a 110 year old bridge in Eastern Iowa that partially collapsed on Friday June 13, 2008 due to devastating floods in Iowa. This was no ordinary bridge. It was a gathering place for people to just plain have fun. Everyone always seems to have a smile when they are at the bridge. Two spans of the 3 span bridge remain. Hopefully they will be saved and possibly the bridge will be restored to its full glory. This song has already touched the hearts of many who know the bridge. It also in some sort of peculiar way changed my life around.

As of January 2009, the news on the Bridge is that FEMA requires the Bridge to go back to Johnson County control. FEMA then would pay 90% to build an economical span to the 2 remaining span. It is unknown at this time if the County will go for it. SAVE THE BRIDGE

Another original song on this CD is "Alex The Galaxie". It is actually a true rendition of what happened to my first car. It's a rather sad but funny story. Hope you enjoy it.

Dancetime With Linda & Roland is now really Dancetime With Linda. My friend Roland passed away in October of 2007 and it was he who discovered CDBABY. So his name remains. Thank-you Roland.

So Linda, that is me, remains. I am what you would call a "one lady band." I play a Roland V Accordion, the FR7. Oops, the A word - ACCORDION. It is midi to a Ketron SD3 sound module on this CD. What a fantastic combination. I generally play ballroom dance music throughout the Los Angeles area. I am originally from Solon, Iowa, a small town near Cedar Rapids. Again, the Sutliff Bridge took me back to my roots. Now just how many accordion players do you know that have made a living at playing an accordion and how many are ladies??????

You can dance to my music at such places as the San Gabriel Elks, Seal Beach Leisure World, Laguna Woods Leisure World, 49ers Club in Lancaster, Weingart Senior Center in Lakewood, Paramount Senior Center in Paramount, Duarte Elks, Sunrise Senior Living in Seal Beach and Huntington Beach. The list goes on and on. I've been doing this seems like all my life. Since 1984 in Los Angeles. Before 1984 I was in Iowa with a 7 piece band-Glen Kelley and the Little German Band, Glen Kelley Orchestra. We traveled all over the midwest. Played in many of the great old ballrooms including-
Surf Ballroom Clear Lake Iowa
Medina Ballroom Minnesota
Bel Rae Ballroom Minnesota
Dance Mor Ballroom Swisher Iowa
Ponderosa Ballroom Walford Iowa
Inwood Ballroom Spillville Iowa
Majestic Ballroom Minnesota
New Tower Inn Omaha Nebraska
