Album Notes

Checking into the crowded Canadian singer songwriter scene,
Lindsay Robertson is just about ready to unpack her first solo record:
Gypsy Hotel. Tracking the muse from her roots in Guelph Ontario to her home in Vancouver BC, Gypsy Hotel plays out like a confession from a gal who isn’t so sure she did wrong...

There is no cast of special guest players, she does not hail from rock royalty. She offers only a stripped down bedroom sound. Packing no more than guitar and voice, her sultry songs explore territory mapped out by influences like Tom Waits and Besse Smith. You’ll find her down the hall from fellow tale tellers Martin Tielli and Martha Wainwright.

A wise man once said never piss off a redhead.
This is doubly true when that ginger is a writer of songs.

"This uncommon songbird exposes her heartache with a twisted twang worthy of Waits and Wainright." - Reid Jamieson
