Album Notes

Lindy Bingham is a Southern California blues artist who has a powerful, pure vocal style and the knack for writing meaningful blues tunes that range from urban and gritty to beautiful and sweet, and she plays a mean alto sax on top of it all. Dubbed Orange County, California’s “Blues Sweetheart,” she has been playing rock and blues in the Los Angeles area for many years, honing her musical talent on stage with such blockbuster artists as Chris Thompson, lead singer for Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, who wrote and sang a duet with Lindy on this CD.

Make me an Offer is a collection of mostly original songs that explores those places where the blues truly exist -- good love, bad love, and everything in between -- and playfully pokes fun at the “valley girl” stereotype that inevitably connects itself to Southern California women (especially those with long blonde hair and a charming smile).

Lindy’s love of traditional rhythm and blues styles is apparent in the horn sections and gospel-like backup vocals behind most of the songs, while her interest in more contemporary styles peaks out now and again in ripping guitar solos and solid rock-n-roll rhythms. While nodding in the direction of many traditional blues styles, Lindy has taken her interpretation of the blues in a decidedly West Coast direction, infusing all into a fun, high-energy, satisfying listening experience.

Bluesy, funky, and completely refreshing! Lyrically, Lyndy taps into the female struggle with their male counterpart. She captures the Southern Cali culture in a nutshell in California Blues. The band complements her perfectly. Well done.
