In the past 4 years Dani has called Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco all home. Each city has inspired multitudes of songs and a serious inability to stay in one place too long. Not such a bad thing when you consider that in the past year alone she has toured through, CA, AZ, NM, TX, OR, WA, NJ, PA, and NY. All the while keeping her home cities thoroughly and regularly entertained.

With influences ranging from Ella to The Cure, Patty Griffin to The Pixies and far beyond, Dani's songwriting is a comfortable mixture of pop, rock, folk, blues, and country topped with her unique soulful vocals. Simple, honest songs played with just an acoustic guitar and the immense power and emotional intensity of her voice.

Dani is a performing member of Indiegrrl (www.indiegrrl.com), DivaBands (www.divabands.com), GoGirlsMusic.com, and Women In Rock (www.womeninrock.com) and her latest full-length release, The Milk, was awarded a listeners choice award for best independent CD of 2001 at www.Kweevak.com.     Definitely a good listen. I couldn't get any more of The Inklings since Dani left, so I had to go back in time to get the next best thing.

    Dani's incredible talent and variety of style, lyrics and sounds comes shining through on "The Milk." I highly recommend this CD and I'll be first in line when her new CD is released.

    The melodies are far from ordinary. She uses dissonant chords and alternating rhythms. The vocals are stunning. She has a really solid voice. But she also layers it with backing vocals (her own, I believe) to add another dimension. Her lyrics are clever and well thought out. Stand out songs are "An Excuse"; which shows the layered vocals well and "I Will Believe Again" with it's radio friendly vibe. (see above link for full review)

    Dani's first full-length CD has some great material and a powerful simplicity. It captures the vibe of her live solo performances, but adds a handful of wonderful studio suprises: beautiful (often haunting) harmonies, and on many tunes, the solid grooves of a rhythm section. The tunes get better with each listen, and some of them could easily become huge hits. Good work!
