Irresistibly passionate rebellion rock and electric folk with a political agenda. Guest artists include June Millington and Julie Wolf.

notes

At an age when many look forward to retirement, Linq is kicking it up, cranking it out, and defying stereotypes.
FAST MOVING DREAM is fresh, uncompromising, decidedly un-stodgy, and lush with life experience. This unique album reflects a woman who has found her groove: strongly vulnerable, irresistibly passionate, and dynamically humanistic.

FAST MOVING DREAM is an electric folk and rebellion rock celebration appealing to Woodstock originals and their children, soul-searching idealists, and anyone frustrated with the current state of the world. This project, produced by June Millington, includes songs about war victims, health care, homophobia, longing for love, celebration, and a tribute to a longtime friend who died too young. June Millington, Julie Wolf, Jami Sieber, Allison Miller, Loren Weisman, and Ruth Davies are among the studio musicians who create soulful, gritty, energetic background to Linq’s silken voice, driving guitar, and edgy themes.

"Tired" has been awarded an Honorable Mention in the Other Human Relationships category by the 2006 International Narrative Song Competition (INSC).

"You might call Linq a modern-day protest singer." Guy-Michael Grande, Ear Candy/the Chronicle Middletown, CT Dec. 2006

“This whole record was a surprise. A pleasant one at that. I love story songs that I can get lost in and this album has that exponentially.” Amy Lotsberg , Collected Sounds September 17, 2006

“... your CD is outstanding. Every track has me mesmerized.” “Thank you for making such wonderful music.” DJ Brian Anastasi, host of “Mass Tunes” - WMUA Radio Amherst, MA August 2006

“... her electric folk rock sound - ‘appealing to Woodstock originals’ - is good, and I've learned my lesson about judging a book by its cover yet again.”
Anthony King, Bay Windows Boston, MA July 2006

“... twelve unique tracks.” “Linq's lyrics are full of meaningful messages and life observations.” “Fast Moving Dream builds on the momentum of Linq's first record Journey demonstrating that this mature artist is growing but staying true to her content and convictions!” Laura Turner Lynch for Kweevak.com July 2006

“Linq’s latest release, “Fast Moving Dream”, is a collection of thought provoking songs sure to engage the listener. Her skillful use of words coupled with an enchanting sound leaves the listener wanting more.” G. Moncrief, GoGirlsMusic.com July 2006

  • Proving the dream is real!
    author: Ethan Stone

"Fast Moving Dream, Linq's new CD is among the best ever presented in the North Quabbin Region. Her poignant, stirring lyrics, striking melodies and hypnotic rhythmic and harmonic textures will keep this disc in the player for a LONG time. And the name is just right, she's cruising right along, and just when you think she's as good as possible, Linq finds a way to sound even better! Are you ready for the next round?" -Ethan Stone

  • Diverse !
author: Laura T Lynch of Kweevak.com

Linq's music is a blend of the blues, folk, funk, Irish and rock. Linq's lyrics are full of meaningful messages and life observations. Each song is diverse featuring Linq on the guitar and accompanied by a variety of instruments and players. The CD opens strong with the edgy rocker 'Victim of the War' - a caustic commentary of the impacts of war with a rallying cry "let's stop war" punctuated with searing guitar licks and haunting keys. It is followed by the sorrowful 'Tired' with its sad instrumentation accenting a story about ageing and the American healthcare system failing its citizens. 'Irish Lass' is a whimsical tribute enhanced by an electric cello, a harp and even a penny whistle. Fast Moving Dream builds on the momentum of Linq's first record Journey demonstrating that this mature artist is growing but staying true to her content and convictions!

  • Fast Moving Dream barrels down the tracks!

This sophmore album from Linq shows tremendous growth and taps into raw and passionate emotion. No two songs are alike, as it flows from one rich story to another. Linq combines folk, rock, funk, and blues elements in such a unique way- this album has something for everyone!

  • A bolus of reality, hope being the only side effect.
    author: Earle Baldwin

A bolus of reality, hope being the only side effect. A mature, polished work that leaves behind neocon and neoprogressive illusion. It has moments as raw as Neil Young. Moments as tenderly clear as Emmylou. Rocks at times like Patti Smith. Stories told are authentic. Many are hopeful. The voice is new though not young. It is open, clear and easily understood. Sung in prose, this woman's words tell stories seldom told so clearly in the brief moment allowed to a modern songwriter. The supporting musicians have deep roots and experience, but, Linq still finds her place in the front. Her lack of mimicry, strongly possessed voice and clean presentation puts each song on the table before us. The song either lives or dies on it's own merit. I point you to the song Tired. If you do not get it, then you are ill equipped to live in the future before us. Listen to it lyrics in hand. The entire disc is consistent in it's depth and sensitivity. It is current yet smacks hard of a Charles Dickens sharp pen drawing blood from a society gone daft. Just listen and try to ignore.

  • Flowing, intelligent, thought provoking and tight
    author: Ed Taylor

Fast Moving Dream is as beautiful and honest in its sound as it is in the lyrics and ideas demonstrated in every song. The tunes complement each other while clearly standing on their own as solo pieces of honest and truthful art. From the softer side to the rocking and more uptempo, Fast Moving Dream is a an album that spans its many different styles and sounds with ease and top notch musicianship. From Open hearts to Irish lass, Never be mine to its 1st track Victim of war, this is an album you will play over and over again.

  • The journey continues...
    author: jen.

Linq takes you on a soulful emotional ride with powerful lyrics and an awesome blend of rebellion rock and electric folk guitar rifts... Fast Moving Dream, the title track invites you on the train... get on, enjoy the ride... some of my favorites, Who I Need to Be - Sometimes, Somedays - Stalker - On My Own Again, but hey it's all good.

  • Touched my heart, I sensed the pain, joy and protest throughout, great
    author: Gail Rhoades

Linq hits on so many of the faults and fears that we face from childhood to our adult life. She demands equal footing with those who have come before setting a higher level of understanding as the goal of mankind. Would that we listen with a caring heart and an open mind. She bears watching on her journey as she brings a new awareness of life to all of us. Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
