Album Notes

Linus originally from Malmö Sweden took up the classic guitar at the age of ten. After discovering rock he fell in love with jazz in his late teens while studying at “Fridhems Folkhögskola” in Svalöv in southern Sweden, a school specialized in jazz, latin music and pop with students coming from all over Sweden and Denmark.

He worked on the Canarian Islands and in Florida before moving to Nice, France where he studied at the “Conservatoire National de Région” and where he lives today.

He’s played at several festivals in France: Nice (1999), Vitrolles (2003), Montauroux (2003), La Gaude (1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003), Contes (2004) among others and in Sweden: Malmö (2003), Helsingborg (2003) and Smyge (2004).

Inspired by modern jazz, brazilian music and world-music, he writes for his own sextet featuring trumpetplayer François Chassagnite and plays with vocalist Isa Rabaraona as well as a quartet called "JOGA" with saxophonist Neil Gerstenberg, bassist Jean-Marc Jafet and drummer Alain Asplanato among others. He also finds time for teaching jazz-guitar in Nice. In 2005, he wins the second "Trophée Jazz de la Côte d'Azur" with his cd "Naima".
