Album Notes

"Living My Life" is a collection of songs which reflect my life, as the title suggests. Each song has significance to my life, be it reflective, a metaphor for living or a story of a loved one passed away. The musical sounds bare a mix of influences, so finding a genre related label presents some challenges. Elements of Jazz, Classical, Rhythm and Blues and Folk are evident in this album. It is heart felt music for music's sake.

After recording my first album, Folk Portraits, I was inspired to write more of my own music. "Folk Portraits" consisted of many of my arrangements of American folk songs and spirituals. The original arranger turned out to be mostly unavailable to take on such a project, so I was inspired to explore my compositional side. Well, I got such positive responses that I decided to write more and more especially after the fact. Now I'm writing my own songs and compositions from scratch. It has been and continues to be quite a journey. I'm also having a lot of fun.
