Album Notes

- One of July's Top Albums (Folk DJ) -

Jazzy guitar, crystalline folk vocals and "spring stream songs" (DIRTY LINEN) make up the central nervous system of this new release from folk-athlete Lis Harvey. Formerly known for setting a Guinness World Record with her "fifty state tour" (she played all 50 US States in just 60 days), the willful red-head dusts her competitors with this collection of hard-won, expertly woven tales and musings. PORCUPINE features Hammond, bodhran, ashiko, kalimbe, and even burro-jaw - as well as plenty of acoustic tracks and even a little slide guitar by Ms. Harvey. Duncan Watt (JENNIFER KIMBALL, GREG GREENWAY) co-produces, while Bob Beal (C. Merenda of The MAMMALS) and Joe Chellman (TRES FEMMES, ANTJE) contribute guitar and percussion.

"A butterfly right out of the cocoon. Lis Harvey is a delicate balance of honesty and beauty, singing up some hard truths." - CLEVELAND FREE PRESS
