Album Notes

This award-winning singer was born in the Bluegrass hills of Kentucky, but she now calls Manhattan her home. Her frequent appearances on the New York club scene always garner great praise. Lisa made her national television debut in a solo singing appearance on THE ROSIE O'DONNELL SHOW, where she was a big hit! Read on to see what the NY Critics have to say about this up and coming talent!

"If Bette Midler and Bonnie Raitt ever decide to record their own Trio, Lisa Asher could round out the grouping. Of the current performers, Asher may be the one most confidently poised to break into the bigger time!"
THE VILLAGE VOICE

"This bravura singer has been pronounced by starmaker Rosie O'Donnell as "an untapped talent" and, dammit, is she ready to be tapped! Rosie O'Donnell loves her, I love her, you'll love her too! Lisa Asher delights her fans with an original blend of folk, rock and pop, all with a seamlessness that suggests she's just on the brink of major stardom!"
TIMEOUT NY

"She electrified the stage from opening to encore, a thrilling, exciting raw talent with unlimited potential - this, my friends, is one voice to be reckoned with and recorded on a major label. She sounds like a combination of Reba McEntire and Barbra Streisand at times-the perfect instrument for rock, gospel, country, and all points in between. A flawless rock belt! Every once in a while I have the opportunity to experience a thrilling, exciting raw talent with unlimited potential. Lisa Asher is among that small number of performers destined to climb to the top in the music business!"
BACK STAGE

"Lisa Asher has a full, smooth voice that she applies to an uncommonly wide variety of material, and her band, under the direction of Jeff Waxman, deserves special mention because it's unusually good!"
NEW YORK POST

"A little bit country and a little bit rock 'n' roll, Asher sings pop songs with a voice that's as beautiful and crystal-clear as Waterford glass!"

author: Michael E Stuart
i was lucky enough to see lisa asher sing live several times when i lived in new york city. she's not only an INCREDIBLE vocalist backed by an amazing band, she's a true showman (showwoman? whatever she wants to be called...) this CD is as close as you can get to "being there", although nothing can top seeing her in person. she's fantastic.

From Little Buddah
author: Dianne Lindsey
I was watching the movie "Little Buddah" with Keanu Reaves and in the very beggining was the song "Let the Mystery Be" being played on the radio in a car full of monks. It was so wonderful how this song meshed the movie together. More...this song stuck with me and I went everywhere looking for the movie so I could hear it again and buy the CD. Lisa Asher is unknown now, but not for long. No Mystery!
