notes

"Unadorned" by Lisa b Burns produced by ex Roxy Music bassist, Sal Maida with Arthur Lamonica.

"Your voice is KILLER!!!!! Lisa I love your cd."
Jackie DeShannon

"Unadorned is a moving personal album. Effective in its minimal production, Lisa sings with a touching resonance centred round her gritty Americana voice. An enjoyable musical journey"
Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music)

"It's the best thing I've heard in ages. There's a great mystique around the whole sound, combined with Lisa's voice...it's very haunting."
...Russell Mael (Sparks)

"Lisa Burns' voice is blessed with the plainspoken keening of mountain wind, and her songs uncover emotions far beyond the either / or catchphrase. Shaping them with her partner, Sal Maida, the music they make embraces the homespun and the heart-driven. I am always moved and illuminated when in their presence."
...Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group)

"This album has been put in steady rotation at our house alternating with "Beautiful Dreamer," the songs of Stephen Foster. I couldn't give "unadorned" any greater compliment."
...Allan Pepper (The Bottom Line)

It is what I imagine Neil Young & Lucinda Williams would sound like if they were produced by Brian Eno.
...Sal Nunziato NYCD

"Burns has a voice that evokes a little girl who has spent a lot of time in nightclubs" Jennifer Kelly - Splendid

"...Burns alters her voice brilliantly...you can hear the raw voice of P.J. Harvey, the integrity of Lisa Germano, the salt and flavor of Hazel Dickens."
Gert Ovre Hallandsposten Daily News

"Lisa has a kinda higher voice than Lucida Williams, but similar blues/rock inflected ideas, if filtered through some kind of strange 'surreal landscape' twang."
"Trouble Waits" almost sounds like Marianne Faithful trying country."
"Ballsy, often beautiful, unexpected ...very effective twists."
