Album Notes

This is Lisa Dudley's break out album -- a little more edgy and upbeat while still holding onto the "spirit country" style. Yes, there's an angel song on here (Angel Sing). And yes another native american song (Little Crow.) It was recorded in Nashville with musical arrangements by Bryan Cumming and produced by Jonathan David Brown.

Here's a nice review:

ARTIST: Lisa Dudley

ALBUM: “Harley Girl” (DoRight Records)

Possibly the most prolific artist in the Hudson Valley area, singer-songwriter Lisa Dudley has released yet another CD of self-penned songs, this time the theme is motorcycles.

This blue-collar collection was recorded in Nashville, and a gentle two-step beat, organic acoustic guitars and harmonica announce title track “Harley Girl,” a biker anthem of a different color. It’s musically the polar opposite of “Born to Be Wild,” but the same themes of freedom, wide-open spaces and possibilities prevail.

“Laid Off Again” strikes a timely chord (at least a Harley gets better gas mileage than a car!) while “Dangerous Curves” premise is plus-size empowerment.

“Buford’s Heart” is about a wild man who was killed in a car wreck, and his heart is transplanted into a quiet librarian type, who subsequently turns into a wild woman.

Again the production value—by Jonathan David Brown—are top notch, and Dudley’s “welcome to my living room” vocal approach always works wonders. Grab this CD and take a ride down Route 28 West.
