Album Notes

Cocktails & Wishful Thinking, the third release from Portland’s First Family of Country Music, is honky tonk heaven for those who like to do some two steppin’!

With producer Deke Dickerson at the helm and The Secret Society Recording Studio supplying the perfect atmosphere the Kin have truly outdone themselves!

The CD includes tunes penned by all three siblings. Chris Miller, who also supplies the bass tracks, brings the Texas flavored “ Tell It To The Jukebox” and “Wine Wine Wine” to the disc, brother Ian’s romantic ditty “One I Adore” is included in this release and he also adds the twangy guitar solos and backing vocals. Lisa Miller, who sings most of the tunes and wrote 6 of the fourteen songs on this new release will have you crying in your beer over No More Roses and heading to church on sunday with Solid Foundation!
Her duet on Tennessee Ernie Ford’s Hog Tied Over You with LA’s favorite country crooner Dave Stuckey brings some flirtatious flavor to the recording .
Even Deke Dickerson got in a backing vocal on a tune! Steel player “cousin” Rusty includes his original instrumental “Sawin’ On The Steel” and NW favorite Jeff Minnick’s drums round out this fine album.

Lisa & Her Kin are touring throughout the summer to promote this new release and bring the honky tonk straight to you.
