ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Lisa Kelly has been a musician all her life. She got her first piano at the age of 5, took lessons, and wrote her first song at age six. Between then and her decision to work more seriously on her own music career, she worked at various jobs and raised two children, all the while listening to all kinds of music whenever she had a chance. She has played in several San Francisco area bands for the last 12 years, in front of audiences ranging from rowdy bar crowds to festivals, playing mandolin, sometimes with a little Jimi thing behind her head that has made the crowd go wild, piano, and singing background vocals. She is a very good studio player as well, having recorded on several independently released cd's. Her specialty is playing ANY song, whether she's heard it or not, and can get a good track down in the studio within one or two takes. Her favorite music to play is music she has never heard before, off the cuff, spontaneously.
Since the release of her first solo CD, "Into The Fire" in May 2005, she has formed her own band and plays whenever possible with them.

Description of the music:
Lisa Kelly
Genre: Folk
Secondary Genre: Adult Contemporary

Original acoustic folk rock with female vocals reminiscent of the 60's about life, love, death and parenthood, from morbid little ditties to haunting melodies that have been known to make grown men cry.

Into the Fire
Lisa writes with such passion and her songs a drenched in emmotion that is real. "Closer","Seasons" and "My Love" touched a special place in my heart and although I have been accused of being overtly sensitive before. You would have to not have a heart not to be effected by some of these wonderfully haunting and enveloping tunes. Coz

I had the great pleasure to meet and play with a great singer-songwriter, Lisa Kelly. She is one of the reasons why folk rock, and just plain fantastic music, is still alive and rockin'. If you haven't yet bought one of her C.D's, then what are you waiting for?! I wish that I could names of musicians that Lisa sounds like, but that would be robbing her of her uniqueness. Her mandolin playing, along with her soft and sweet touch, has me listening to her songs sometimes for hours at a time. She was very kind and generous when "Ameritalian" asked her to open up our show. She is worth the price of her C.D's, and then some. Greg Patton, of "Ameritalian".
