Album Notes

\"Postcards To Home\" exquisitely displays the versatility and depth of expression of the pianist, Lisa Lanza. Her music speaks to the soul. Born into a large Italian-Catholic family (her mother a gifted singer and pianist), her youth was entrenched in music and by age 13 she was accompanying vocal groups and musical theater as well as performing solo classical piano. Her college education (a BA from Central Washington University and MM from the University of Redlands) introduced her to the teachings of Abby Whiteside, Heinrich Schenker, and The Alexander Technique. Her love of travel has led her to many musical landmarks in Eastern and Western Europe and as a computer programmer to various Native American communities throughout the US. She resides on Washington\'s Olympic Peninsula, in Port Townsend, where she is devoted to sharing both traditional and lesser known classical works with her community.
