Album Notes

"Q: What does oz music need? A: More girls who rock!! and Lisa does!" - MusicPlug.net

Lisa Maxwell’s debut EP ‘Bad Day’ is an in-your-face debut effort from this vibrant and outgoing Australian female rocker.

Lead track ‘Bad Day’ is a captivating 3 min energy powerhouse with punchy rock/pop sounds and irresistible hooks and melody, while tracks such as ‘Delusion’ and ‘Ego’ display a darker side to Lisa’s songwriting and her ability to write intriguing and aggressive guitar parts.

Tracks from the EP have enjoyed local and international radio and television airplay. Featured nationally on ABC-TV's Rage program and On Demand broadband website were the videos 'Bad Day', 'Delusion' and the popular track 'Harmonic Rock', with its bizarre, horror movie-inspired clip.

It's ballsy, fun, youthful and sounds best cranked to 11 - so turn it up!

Good day, Lisa

Benalla's Lisa Maxwell ain't just a rock chick. No, the 18-year-old is a talented singer, songwriter and musician who is turning heads with her edgy style and attitude. A team effort with producer Jamie Durrant, Maxwell's debut five-track EP 'Bad Day' shows plenty of promise and exhibits the lyrically-strong and catchy tunes that obviously had Durrant so eager to work with the North East teen. The title track opens proceedings, is strong lyrically and tips its hat chorus-wise to 80's hair rock. 'Delusion' follows suit and is a solid and catchy track certainly suited to radio while 'Ego' is a darker effort which is tight musically. The instrumental jam 'Harmonic Rock' drops in momentarily before the harmonic rock of 'Whatever You Say' closes a solid and enjoyable EP. (Border Mail 10 February 2005)
