Lisa Winter is not your normal nightclub fare. She is not a sugary treat after a meal.
She’s not anybody’s wannabe. She writes and performs her own music in a novel mix
Influenced by acoustic and blues, seasoned with a hint of jazz.
You could consider taking a dose of Lisa’s music as an alternative to Prozac. Her songs are conversations with her audience; her voice is distinctive and surprisingly vulnerable.
Her sets are a blend of familiar cover songs with fresh arrangements, as well as original
tunes. Whether performing solo, or accompanied by lead acoustic, bass, or violin,
The tone is set for very upbeat but soothing music to enjoy in conversational or captive settings.
Lisa grew up in upstate New York and began performing there in her teens. She lived and sang during her travel around the Midwest for ten years, honing her craft before beginning to write and record in earnest over the past few years.
She produced her first CD, ‘Shine’ in 2000 and continued to work on writing while also doing local performances. In 2004 she released a second CD, ‘Come What May’ in support of a local performance to benefit the Breast Cancer Coalition. Lisa is currently working on a new CD that will be released later this year. You can look her up on
www.cdbaby.com//cd/lisawinter. Her music is also available on itunes.
In addition to her own original songs and ‘classic’ material, Lisa’s repertoire includes works by Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Alison Krauss, David Gray, and Norah Jones, to name a few. She is available for booking at festivals, concerts, clubs, and other venues. She also enjoys collaborating to provide music for weddings and other special events. You can contact her at (585) 671.6112 or care of sixwinter@msn.com. Lisa is currently performing around the Rochester area.
