ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
WINNER Best Australian Jazz Vocal Album 2007 – The Australian Jazz ‘Bell’ Awards.

PERSONNEL:
Lisa Young - voice
Ben Robertson – double bass
Stephen Magnusson – guitar
Dave Beck - drums

Lisa's dedicated this album and wrote the last (bonus) track in remembrance to her mother:
Many weeks before my mother’s passing, I began to face
that soon she would be leaving us. I could hear it in her voice
and see the light was fading. Sometimes the best way for
me to be with such grief is to express it in song. I imagine no
one is ever ready to lose their mother, but this song helped
me experience and be in touch with such loss. I felt mostly
for my very young daughter who unlike my older son, would
never know her grandmother’s voice and strong spirit. I
couldn’t believe I would have to raise her without the
comfort and support of my mother. Gwyneth Ellen Young,
this song is for you, it is my way of saying goodbye, even
though I know you are still watching, eternally guiding us all.
