Album Notes

Iris is a mathematician turned composer. She started composing classical contemporary piano music only 8 years ago having had NO lessons in composition!. She has music on CDs in the UK, USA, France, Germany, Holland and Korea. She has a First Class Honours degree in mathematics from London University. Her hobbies are: playing the saxophone, participating in and watching sport. Message from Iris: This world is being torn apart by problems at present. I hope that my sort of music will add a little peace to these troubled times. Do write and let me know what you think of it.

Artist History
Iris started playing the piano at the age of 5. Her music teacher used to hit her hands every time she played a wrong note! In spite of this she has passed all the practical exams for the piano and clarinet. She teamed up with Chick Holland of Lahaina UK to produce two CDs "Autumn Shadows" and "Nature's Symphony". She composed and played the piano pieces and Chick orchestrated them expertly. She has recently signed a publishing contract with NorthStar Music, UK and they have produced a new CD called "Pause to Music" of 19 of her solo piano compositions which has just been released in Germany as part of a series called "Inbalance".. She has produced a joint CD with Classical Guitarist Tom Salvatori from Illinois called "When Evening Falls" which is now released and is for sale at http://cdbaby.com/cd/salvatori7. An excellent American cellist, John Catchings has arranged and plays the cello on most of the tracks. His cello and the Steinway grand are a marriage made in Heaven! The recent tracks were recorded at Doz Studio, UK by Ollie Nicholls. Robin Alciatore, a well-known award winning classical pianist from California has prodoced a CD called "Reflections" on which she plays her favourites of Iris's compositions
