Album Notes

When Cinematic Way, Little Birdie's debut album, was produced, a year and a half went into the work. Montreal producer Mark Goodwin knew just what to do with Orit's songs. The result speaks for itself - a masterfully orchestrated album with instsruments as far ranging as 12 string electric and kalimba (and crystal glasses! and more!). Cinematic Way was named one of the top 3 Canadian albums of that year on CBC radio.

But as Little Birdie toured Canada, most often as a trio, some of the audience requested a recording that is truer to the live performances. Essentially - Orit and Andre singing, acoustic and electric guitar, and the little colouring of a fiddle or mandolin. With the same producer as the first album, I Left the City Burning sonically summarizes the working sound of Little Birdie: haunting harmonies, catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and uttermost sincerity. As one fan put it, "your songs rip my heart out, but I like it."
