Album Notes

The pint-sized singer from Chicago is back with her friends including her own drummin' husband and dynamic daughter to bring another full-length cd. The subtle messages infused throughout the cd are both positive and inspirational to kids and adults. The melodies are addictive while the rhythm is undoubtebly infectious. This cd is a testament that children have better taste in music than we give them credit.

Watch out: your non-breeding friends might mistake this for an adult cd especially the indie rock version of "This Little Heart of Mine"

Voted one of the Top Ten cds for Children's Music of 2008 by About.com Children's Music Guide!!!

Warren Truitt of Kidsmusicthatrocks.com says:

On what may be the kids' album with the grooviest title of the year, Chicago's Ann Torralba uses a mix of world, folk, and rock influences to create one of the best children's CDs of 2008. On her first CD for kids as Little Miss Ann, 2006's Music for Tots, Torralba featured a more folk rock sound. Well, the reverse is true on Clap for Love: rock is definitely emphasized over folk, as Ann and her full band flesh out originals and traditional tunes.

A key to the album's success is Jon Williams' production: great drum sounds and warm, organic instrumentation throughout, very reminisient of the whole mid-'70s L.A. crowd like James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, The Eagles, etc. Clap for Love is for an older audience than Music for Tots; in fact, the same fans of Little Miss Ann's first CD will now dig her second, kinda like fans of A Hard Day's Night turning on to Rubber Soul.

This is a beautiful album to be coming out in these times of increasing loss of uniqueness and personal conviction. It's very cool that a kids' artist will make a call-to-arms to the under-10 crowd, while entertaining them all the while ... have fun, but get involved. Groovy!

My neighbor and I arrived home at the same time and she came over to ask, 'Were you just listening to that interview on NPR? It was hilarious!'. I had to admit I was listening to my kids' CD (with no kids in the car) 'Little Miss Ann' - because I LOVE it!! Stand Up and Counting by Fives are my kids' favorite. It's wonderful music with a great message.

The songs on this album are bouncing though me all the live long day! I pretend I am putting it on for my 15 month old (he does get up and dace and clap!) but, let's be honest...I just adore listening to Ann's vocals, and the tangyhot backing instrumentation. The back-up vocals of young voices really are the whipped-cream atop the whole lovely album. Also, I was glad to get the refresher course in counting by fives. You gottsta get your hands on this wake-up rock-out sweetie album.

Caught in the warm current of Little Miss Ann\'s welcoming voice, we easily join the singin\'and rockin\'. While our bodies enjoy the dance, our minds are looking toward our hearts. What are we made of? Caught in the warm current of LMA\'s welcoming voice, we join her community and sing. All the while, we celebrate our hearts, our uniqueness and our social responsibility. Bravo!!!

Another great CD from Little Miss Ann! Her take on classic songs is imaginative and inspiring...she is indeed \"her own bird\". Ann Torralba\'s voice is honest and original and is a pleasure to listen to for both adults and kids alike. The music is upbeat and lets the simple joy of music making shine through. My 4 year old said \"This is a cool CD, isn\'t it, Mom\"? You\'ll think so, too. Reccommended!
