LJ is one the most promising new singer/songwriters emerging today with a sound that draws on alternative- pop,funk,classic-rock,world-beat, and Latin influences. Most engaging is the sense of intimacy in his voice, an honesty in his lyrics, and the feeling that his songs are our songs. It's as if he weaved all our life's experiences together with his and gave us a voice to comfort us. He also gives us some very catchy songs that tell stories that stay in your head for a long time after you hear them. This is by no means just your typical singer/songwriter collection, it is a lesson in musicality - LJ is backed by some killer musicians. This is a band-lovers singer/songwriter CD (kinda like a cross between Live and Jars of Clay). The production is top-notch, major label quality with tightly woven arrangements that leaves you wanting more. There is not a second of music that is wasted - every note fits into it's right place, pulling you in all the right directions, without sounding predictable. The songs remain true to the formula that makes songs killer hit songs (and there are a few on here)....Buy this CD - Don't let it slip through your fingers like a bar of soap!!!

I am very impressed with this debut album from Littleton Jones.  I can sincerely relate to the lyrics as he shares right from his heart.  Each song is uniquely different and it depends on my mood which one I like the best on any given day.  The music has a catchy beat and I find myself singing right along.  He has some quality musicians behind him and his vocals are right on.  My favorite songs are Today is a New Day, Love of your Life, Belong To You and Fascinating Man.  I highly recommend this album.

Wow!  Was I amazed to hear a great variety of such heartfelt songs all on one disk!  The catchy, soulful, romantic lyrics combined with tight-driven, beautiful melodies had me singing along at my second listening. Love it. I've had different favorites every few days as it grows on me -- but my emerging favorites are Today is a New Day, Stay On, Belong To Me, and Diggin'
AND, Belong to Me and Diggin'...well I have to listen twice in a row cause there's no way I can get enough of the emotion, guitar and vocals in those tunes.  Way to go KLJ for the most awesome debut I've heard since Train, or maybe DMB's Remember Two Things!  Everyone should own a copy of this CD.

A fantastic CD!  I have listened to it pretty much non-stop for a week now, and it is still fresh. Littleton Jones says it is "his story"--and the music is obviously personal--but everyone should be able to find something of him/herself in the thoughtful lyrics. But don't get the wrong impression--if you are just in the mood to put the top down, drive real fast and listen to music that just kicks some you-know-what...well this CD does that too! (Rise is my favorite for that purpose :-) In short--it's great music--buy it!
