Many bands claim to be "all about the song", but few can deliver on that promise to the extent of Living Daylytes.

The birth of Living Daylytes results from a need to blow off some creative steam by founders Mat Hammond and Nate Shivers.

"We were involved in another project at the time," explains Shivers, "and we both started to write these great songs. Without having an appropriate outlet for them, we got together with our friend and producer, Robbie Watson at his studio to throw them down as demos. At the time we figured that we could come back to them later if need be".

It was soon very apparent, however, that they had stumbled upon something special. With the addition of long time friend and bassist Steve Flores and later, following an extensive search, drummer Ralph Barr, a relentless schedule of shows began to prepare for the studio. The result is a finely tuned, high energy rock and roll experience both live and on the Daylytes debut release, "SPIN".

"We really wanted to try and capture all the energy and emotion of the live show on this album and I really believe we've been able to do that", says the London-born singer, Hammond, "Nate's guitar work and the way he incorporates it into the song is really exciting for me. Coupled with an outstanding rhythm section, you have the basis for everything you need to write great songs. And that's the most important part. It has to be the song first!"

With so much passion for their both their songs and their live shows, Living Daylytes has been swaying audiences and making new friends in their home state of Arizona.

They have also garnered the attention of the independent label "Knot Known Records". Label President, Chris Richardson heard the Daylytes being played on Arizona's leading rock radio station, 101.5 KZON, during DJ Tracy Lea's midday show. He immediately set about making contact with the band's management and Knot Known have since teamed up with the band to release "SPIN", and are helping the Daylytes to realize their potential.

With the album being pushed to radio across the country and plans well under way to hit the road in support of the airplay, Living Daylytes are giving it everything they've got.

As Nate puts it, "Our goal at this point is to get out there and play to as many people as we can, every night of the week. Our focus has always been, and will continue to be about writing great songs. Now it's time to share our songs with audiences across the country and across the world."
