Liza Melfi, is a charismatic rising star in music and entertainment. In addition to performing on countless stages in nightclubs, restaurants, casinos and outdoor musical venues in Montreal, Canada, Atlantic City, USA and Hong Kong, she has graced many large theatres including Le Lion D’Or, Saint-Denis, The Spectrum, and The Bell Centre. She has performed at diverse events throughout her career, which continues to grow and blossom. Liza was destined for a career in entertainment, a fact that became apparent early on, when she took home First Prize at the Revelation Challenge, a province wide contest in Quebec that showcased her beautiful singing and unique personality.
Music has always been Liza’s first love, but she has pursued other interests along the way. While obtaining her diploma in Theatre Studies at the prestigious Dawson College, Liza began work as an actress for various television series, feature films, commercials, and music videos, for both Canadian and American releases.
Liza was soon asked to participate in a joint project based in France, which involved creating a musical wish-card to celebrate the turning of the millennium. The package included a CD of the millennium song she composed and performed. More than 110 000 copies of the CD were distributed and sold in France.
In the midst of the acting work, her desire to produce original songs led Liza to join the vocal group Odyssey Trio, who soon obtained a recording contract with Audiopact Records, and led her to many new opportunities.
Even though Liza’s musical tastes span Jazz, Funk, Pop and R&B music, her learning process with Jennifer Meade, known in the Gospel Montreal scene, helped Liza refined her style and further explored diversity of soul interpretations. In her latest project, Liza Melfi Live at The House of Jazz, Liza takes pride in interpreting each song with her own special touch from each of these genres of music that have inspired her so deeply.
Liza’s future musical projects and true passion lies in composing melodies and writing texts for songs, which she hope to produce, in preparation for her second album. She also aspires to put a new show together with all the original material of this album.

Powerful yet sensual
author: Erin Bukofsky
The collection of songs chosen creates a wonderfully uplifting yet relaxed feel. Melfi respects the composition of each venerable song while providing her own special touch from genres such as Funk, Pop and R&B. The piano, upright bass and drums work elegantly together as they frame the powerful yet sensual vocals of Liza Melfi. This professional production is reminiscent of the special talents of Norah Jones and Sarah McLachlan. Well done.
Tr.1 At Last- Melfi's rich voice puts a graceful spin on this timely classic while the background instrumentals beautifully tie the melody together.
Tr.7 Ain't No Sunshine- A unique and notably done cover. It holds true to the time-honored song yet invites pop and funk into this distinct and fresh representation.
Tr.13 On Broadway-a perfect way to end an album, leaving the listener satisfied yet eager to hear more.
