notes

* Finally, it's "Revealed". The much anticipated release from Liz Barnez and Mudhead Music. Twelve songs that reflect the diverse musical heritage of this New Orleans native/Colorado transplant.

* At the forefront is Liz's voice; a rich alto, soulful and hearty. Her voice embodies strength and vulnerability all at once (think Bonnie Raitt meets KD Lang). "Beautifully mainstream...natural...a minimum of pretense...her voice is so round and strong, capable of drawing a bead on your tingle spot." Denver Icon

* Songs reach across stylistic boundaries and subject matter to include: Rock, with a world beat, craving the loss of control; Folk, with the "self - searching" lyric you can't ignore; a sultry Torch song contemplating loneliness (with a nod to French chanteuse Edith Piaf). Then there's a funky rockin' song inspired by Humpty Dumpty. There is the ballad to end all relationships by; a country flavored musing of societies ills; a New Orleans "second-line" celebrating impatience; an R & B flavored tune ruminating the "penalties and prizes" of loving whiskey, and more....

* Produced and engineered by David Channing. Recorded in Los Angeles at Cello Studio. Featuring David's musicianship on "things with strings", keyboards, percussion and programming.

* Contributing musicians include: Liz's favorite drummer in the whole world , Vinnie Colaiuta. Vinnie has played on many of our great artists records: (Joni Mitchell, Sting, Frank Zappa, Shawn Colvin, Faith Hill, Dana Owens (aka Queen Latifa). One of the premier originators of American roots music, the subdudes (Steve Amedee, Tim Cook, John Magnie, Tommy Malone, and Jimmy Messa) contributed their soulful singing, percussion, guitar, bass, organ & accordian to "Revealed". Patrick Leonard (producer of Madonna, Elton John, Jewel, etc.) provided a "groovy" electric piano track. Chris Engleman (of the "E Tones", from the nationally syndicated NPR show "E Town"), loaned his precision bass playing to the mix.

Liz has a way of making you feel as if she could be your neighbor. Her Voice and Love may transcend the spaces, but she belongs in Northern Colorado. And we miss her here***
