Long considered one of the top entertainers in her native New England, Liz Boardo took the step into national prominence with her customary style and grace. This artist has not only placed numerous singles on the national charts, she’s shared the concert stage with the late, great Chet Atkins at his special invitation, opened shows for such notables as Glen Campbell, Ricky Skaggs, Tom T. Hall, Travis Tritt and Larry Gatlin, to name a few. Liz has headlined shows in several different regions of the nation, including a stint in Las Vegas and always a well received performance on several TV shows; also the Independent Label Show during one of the Fan Fair week festivities in Nashville.
Her convincing vocal delivery and unique styling have resulted in a sound distinctly her own. Her clear, low alto voice, coupled with the heartfelt sincerity she pours into each lyric, have combined to make her voice one of the most easily recognizable in country music.
When Liz hits the concert stage it is exactly this quality of sincere emotion that she strives for with each song, never failing to capture audiences with her special combination of dynamic presence and heart-felt material. Always mindful of avoiding the trap of sounding like other singers, the sultry, brown-haired, hazel eyed vocalist continues to pride herself in the development of her own personal and highly distinctive sound.
As her audience continues to grow, so does her list of awards and nominations from a wide variety of music industry organizations. Not surprisingly she’s been the winner of numerous awards from the Country Music Association of Massachusetts, her home state. First as “most Promising Female Artist”, then later receiving the organization’s “People’s Choice Award” before winning as “Female Vocalist of the Year”, the following year. A one time nominee for “Top New Female Vocalist” by the Academy of Country Music,(appearing on the awards show) Liz has also received an “Outstanding Achievement Award” from the Country Music Foundation of Nebraska, and one time winning Independent News, “ Top Individual Female Performer”.
When not singing or recording, Liz can be found working with special needs children in her home town school system in the state of Connecticut. Along with caring for and most of all enjoying her two beautiful daughters and husband, her busy schedule also finds her being a Varsity Cheerleading Coach and a Brownie Leader. (Liz also makes time for her favorite hobbies which include walking, cooking and reading).
It becomes apparent with each passing day that Liz has already attained the first part of her original ambition as country singer - “to be nationally accepted” and in continuing on her career - she has completed production of her new CD, “LIZ BOARDO” which contains several chart songs...
