Nice collection of Post-Modern Folk
author: P. Zilliox
I rarely purchase an album on the strength of one song, but after hearing "I Don't Hear Anything," Let Me In was worth a shot. I'm not disappointed. The vocals, arrangement and melodies remind me a lot Cindy Lee Berryhill's cult favorite "Who's Going To Save The World." I mean that as high praise, although this production clearly has more polish and 21st century sophistication than ol’ Cindy ever even attempted. Liz has an unpredictable emotional range to her voice, which gives her songs an ambiguity that was simultaneously intriguing and tiring. When I hit the deliciously creepy final track, her gut feel was more clearly communicated; it was a nice change. Overall, a very solid effort. I am eager to hear what Ms. Pisco has in the pipeline.
