Album Notes

It was Christmas Eve of 2009. The weather in Minneapolis was challenging. it was snowing heavily, the roads caked with ice. After having a traditional Scandinavian dinner with my aging parents and other assorted and highly amusing family characters, my husband and I endured a long, treacherous drive home. I was glad to be home safely. I was tired but not ready to sleep. I stepped out onto the back deck, watching the snow fall - that's when I heard them. The Bells of the Basilica. As I listened to them ring, with the snow falling around me, I thought to myself "This is what it's all about." Little did I know that almost two years later I would write, record and release a song inspired by that moment. As a songwriter, I have prolific periods, and times which I can only describe as dry. This song came to me in a flash - I had to scramble to capture it, the music and the lyrics. I don't know where it came from. I think it came from God. I am very happy to share it with you.
