Album Notes

It's been a beautiful and exciting 20 years for L.J. and the Allstars. Twenty years of partying with audiences throughout the Midwest with their blend of good-time entertainment and superb musicianship.

Ironically, even though L.J., Jon, and Mike are widely known for their musicianship, they don't let it become a yoke on their performances. They prefer to have a party on stage, which usually overflows into their audience.

The Allstars have played everything from concerts, to benefits, to corporate "wing-dings", to smoky clubs. But, somehow they survived all of those late night, sleepy eyed drives home to wives and girlfriends to continue their fun today and into the future.

L.J. Mechem comes from a family with a rich musical heritage. His father is a legendary Indiana Big Band leader. L.J. also has a sister who is a renowned jazz pianist in Nashville and a brother who is a working drummer in Las Vegas.

Jon Barnard possesses some of the most soulful pipes you will ever hear on a vocalist.
People know Jon as a super-creative person, with an almost "too bubbly" personality.
Jon also fulfills his creative needs by working with Jim Davis, the creator of the Garfield comic strip.

Mike Fox has always been known as the jokester of the Allstars. He loves seeing the audience having a good time. For a number of years Mike even worked with the Allstars as part of their "Andrew Sisters Tribute" show. There were no shaved legs, just hairy chests and bad wigs. They were ugly, but a riot!

Now the Allstars have the luxury of sleeping in their own beds each night. The only thing they truly seem to miss is having that endless source of car drying towels which said "Holiday Inn". L.J. and the Allstars can usually be found performing in the Indianapolis area.
