Album Notes

LJ Jaxon is a soul singer, songwriter, and producer. He got his start in Manhattan and is originally from Seattle. He appears on The Joy of Creating, a compilation CD with legendary artist Isaac Hayes, Chic Correa, Doug E. Fresh, Howard McCrary, and the late Carl Anderson. He performs with them in the UK, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the United States. Jaxon also appears with Chaka Khan, Edgar Winter, Mark Isham, and Kate Ceberano.

Jaxon’s collaborations with songwriting legend Leon Ware (writer for artist such as Marvin Gaye, and Maxwell) help bring authentic mastery to his soulful delivery. Jaxon’s other collaborations include several top songwriters such as Grammy Award Winner, John Keller (“Love Is” performed by Brian Mcknight & Vanessa Williams), Grammy Nominee Laython Armor (Wynona Judd “Freedom” The Prince of Egypt Soundtrack), Robert Palmer (Prince, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson), Grammy Award Winner, Valerie Watson (Club Nuevo), Mark Wahlberg, Peter Schless (“On The Wings Of Love” Jeffrey Osborn), Edgar Winter, and Justin Meldal Johnson (Beck, Ima Robot, Macy Gray, Rob Thomas, Black Eyed Peas), Tre Hardson (Pharcyde), John Oats,( Hall & Oats).
“It is with great humility that I look upon the relationships I have formed with these legends. The bar has been set.”
Jaxon co-wrote with Geoff Levin and performed the track” Love Conquers All” for the feature film,” Who Made The Potatoe Salad” (starring actor /comedians Jaleel White and Eddie Griffen, released November 6, 2006 by 20th Century Fox).
Jaxon communicates a global viewpoint. He depicts love as a sensation of soul beyond the mere physical, where true beauty resides. He needs only to step outside and observe to find endless inspiration. Soul music is his medium of choice. He merges yesterday’s sounds of soulful wisdom with today’s hip-hop rhythm and progress toward tomorrow.”

Jaxon's time has finally come with the communication reaching across the Atlantic to European shores, to the wise ears of England's own Di-Lee of Soulchoonz Records, his international debute EP "Look" has arrived.
