Raised in Vidalia, Georgia, Lloyd Knight decided at a young age that he wanted nothing more than to be an entertainer. So he started right away, serenading anyone who would listen with Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues". Although he has expanded his repertoire since then, Lloyd remains true to the southern rock and country influences of his upbringing.
Lloyd has toured extensively since the early 90s, including such places as Georgia (of course), New Mexico, Wyoming, and Colorado. Since settling in Nashville in 2002, Lloyd has continued his busy touring schedule. Recently, he performed at the Grand Opening of Rockingham's in Alabama, and then he continued on to TX where he sang "Wishing I Was Home" for the troops at a Midland Rock Hounds baseball game.
Lloyd joined the Rustic Records, Inc. family in March 2005. The first single from this project, Was It Good For You was released last September, and "Wishing I Was Home" followed this spring. Lloyd's third single, "That's What a Redneck Is," was just released to country radio. Lloyd is working on plans to go back out on the road in the coming months.
Lloyd's live performance is not to be missed. His high energy style and love for the spotlight make for an unforgettable show that always leaves his audience wanting more.

Southern boys seem to have a knack for singing country soul. This debut album from Knight proves he is no exception. Produced by Brien Fisher for the independent Rustic Records label, the group dug deep to come up with songs from some of Music City's premium music scribes, not to mention the caliber of the pickers on the album. Of the ten cuts on the CD, "That's What a Redneck Is," penned by Hayward Franks, has "hit" written all over it as far as I'm concerned.

This CD has some great songs on it!

This is a great CD. I am not the biggest country music fan, but I love this CD. There are some really good songs on here, especially "If I Looked That Good Walking" and "Backroads to Heaven." Lloyd has a nice baritone voice that sounds different from every other country music artist. If you like country music, buy this CD. If you don't like country music, still buy this CD...it's worth it!
