Album Notes

A Benefit CD for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Leukemia. Lymphoma. Hodgkins. Myeloma. Any one of these diagnoses sets each person who has it on a journey…a personal quest. It can be scary at times. Emotions run the gamut. To be sure, there are tears. But with the love of families, friends, dedicated health care professionals, and the dogged persistence of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, this illness can be faced head-on. Even with laughter.

“As Long as I’m Here” began as the desire of one such leukemia patient, Joan Johnson, to turn her situation into something positive – an honest approach to this illness and the spectrum of emotions that accompany it. She’s been joined by many singer/songwriter friends of hers in creating this compilation CD.

Some artists you may recognize. Others you may not. But all their songs are from the heart. We hope this CD finds its way into yours.

After recently watching a close friend struggle and survive Lymphoma, this CD really means a lot. The honesty and courage of the artists make each track so powerful. My favorite…David Mosher’s Drink it Up.

Beautiful music
author: Annette V.
I loved this album for the heart-rending songs it presents. These artists have suffered great losses, and it says much of them that they can use that experience to produce such beautiful music. Having recently lost a son, I understand their pain.
