Leslie McClure is a singer / songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. She and her father, John McClure, have been performing music together since her childhood when they played in various bars and restaurants around Louisville, KY. As a student at Belmont University, she studied abroad in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and the following year (2006) released the CD “The Santiago Set,” inspired by her experiences abroad. Since then, Leslie and her father have put together the CD “Back Home to You,” complete with 12 songs ranging from bluegrass to blues. Of the 12 songs on the CD, Leslie wrote 6, including two songs (Fala and La Hora), which are completely in Portuguese and Spanish, respectively. Leslie McClure is now a graduate student in the Latin American Studies program at Vanderbilt University, and incorporates much of what she learned in her travels to South America into her songs and musical style. John McClure accompanies Leslie on the entire album, playing everything from guitar to papoose, and also recorded, mixed and mastered the entire CD. All of the money from CD sales will be donated to various hunger programs in Nashville, TN.
