Album Notes

Leah Michelle Hamilton is a classically trained pianist with style and soul. She has been referred to as a "romantic pianist." She has created a unique interpretation of the classics with added instrumentations producing a more contemporary appeal. Varied as the passions in her life of travel and others, the stylings include ragtime and vocal with Leah Hamilton's original song, "Better Because of You." The flair in her music comes from the depth and various dimensions in her own life. Leah is a classy, charming, gracious musician, a California Licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist, a motivational speaker, an accomplished athlete, and a mother of beautiful daughters. Her balance of music, work, faith, sports, and family is a beautiful demonstration of her one-of-a-kind creations that compose "Complements. Leah is an Arroues, whose family was one of the pioneering citrus ranch families in Orange County. She comes from an acclaimed heritage of outstanding musicians, artists, educators and philantropists. One of these is Marcy Arroues-Mulville a key figure in the early years of the Orange County Pacific Symphony and founder of the Music Associates at Cal. State Fullerton. Leah is an ASCAP member. She recorded her original song and unique arrangements with Dr. Stan Breckenridge, a United States Fulbright Scholar, professor, recording artist, and Jazz pianist. The combination of Leah's classical training, Stan's Jazz experience, combined with professional musical skills of David Scott who has played guitar for Prince created brilliant compositions. Other talened musicians whose skills added vibrancy to Complements were Jim White, Kelsie Hamilton, Ed Peffer, Diana Gray, Roger Wood, and Eric Marbach. Leah had two CD release parties for Complements. One was at Liberal Latitudes store and art studio in Laguna Beach, and the next evening in Laguna Hills, California. The Orange County Register reported it this way. "Laguna Hills woman is hosting a gala to release her first CD. Leah Michelle Hamilton strives to reach out to others any way she can. As a family therapist, she can get in touch with people everyday while on the job. But through her music, she has found another way to do so. Hamilton goes by a Shakespearean quote, 'If music be the food of love, play on.'" By Alejandra Molina, Staff Writer OCRegister

If you are like many people where finding a CD that contains many interesting and engaging selections seems to be a lost cause, don't give up - - Complements has arrived to save the day! If your listening preference is classical music but would like to experience different orchestrations and consequently tone colors, then listen to "Clair de Lune" and "Moonlight Sonata." Perhaps a little traditional doo-wop fused with rhythm & blues stylizations by a young woman singer is your taste. If so, I highly recommend listening to Leah's original song titled "Better Because of You." (In fact, this would be a great song for that special person in your life.) Ragtime music seems to be performed at educational institutions, Disneyland, and films such as The Sting. Well, Complements has two noteworthy pieces, namely "Maple Leaf Rag" and "The Entertainer." Finally, regardless of your religious conviction, "The Lord's Prayer" is an emotionally charged song with lead singer, background singers, and an impressive orchestration. Every once in while a CD comes along that fulfills many musical expectations - - this is one of those times. Get Complements for yourself, one for your best friend, and one for that person that seems to annoy you endlessly.
