Album Notes

Lorraine Nelson Wolf is a remarkably versatile musician. A composer, singer, and accomplished classical pianist, she made her debut at Carnegie Recital Hall in 1997 and has performed on the stages of The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center as well.

On her sixth and newest CD, "Songs from Hopewell," Lorraine finds inspiration from her work at the Hopewell Reformed Church to present a collection of songs that give one a sense of hope, grace and beauty. Arrangements range from sparkling solo piano and voice to full band and choir. Eleven-year-old Kyle Geysen and seven-year-old Gabrielle Hondorp shine in vocal solos on "Have Mercy On Me" while Irish tin whistle player Robbie Haldane adds a touch of the Celtic to the "Prayer of Saint Patrick."

Lorraine's previous recordings include her 2004 Parents' Choice award-winning children's CD, "Come Follow Me!" Lorraine has also written award-winning scores for television and films. Recent projects have included both choral and instrumental sacred compositions as well as co-writing, music directing and performing in the theater piece, "Silly, Silly Me," which appeared at New York's Symphony Space.

Lorraine's version of The Lord's Prayer is haunting in the best sense of the word: both upliting and earthy. It's a reminder that both body and soul are precious gifts of grace.
