Album Notes

flamingcheese records is pleased to announce the release of Loco Zydeco’s 3rd album, Time To Turn The Key. Featuring 17 original tunes, the album blends Modern & Traditional Zydeco into Loco Zydeco’s own rockin’ take on Louisiana’s spiciest musical export. Zydeco fans will love the more traditional tracks such as “Feelin’ Fine” and “Face Down In Plaisance” while those who like their Zydeco with a touch of the Blues will dig the grooves of “Honey Bee” and “Merry Go Round”. For those who like their Zydeco with a little pop, the commercially-tinged crossover feel of “Next Time” and “Shine” as well as the sweet ballad “Christine Lamour” will hit the spot.

For those unfamiliar with Zydeco, this popular South West Louisiana dance music that features the accordion and rubboard, spices up Creole melodies with elements of R&B, Caribbean and Blues. As Louisiana Zydeco superstar Terrance Simien says of Loco Zydeco - “Their music is a great testament to how far the indigenous Zydeco music of Louisiana has traveled. They show how much they respect the pioneers and creators of the genre, play their hearts out and do a fantastic job interpreting the various styles within the genre.”
