Rainbow Over The Rock is collection of ten original songs written by Bruce David Loeffert and recorded by the members of The Bruce of Windsor Project. Those members include: Charley Interrante on Bass, Kenny Hendricks on Keyboards, Pam Dixon on background vocals and harmonies, Tom Steigler on Drums and background vocals, Sal Sammartano on Saxophone/Flute and Bruce David Loeffert on Guitar / Lead Vocals / and Harmonies.
The cover of the CD is an actual photograph of a Rainbow that Bruce saw from the balcony of his house in Rockville Centre, NY on August 12th, 2008 Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM. The rainbow was so awesome and inspiring that Bruce wrote a song entitled Rainbow Over The Rock and so to named the CD. The Rainbow was a sign from the heavens to have faith and hold on despite the hardships faced in life. It is ironic but the file mix downs of all 10 songs were completed exactly a year to the date of seeing the rainbow on August 12th 2009. The songs on this CD are short stories about the times and trials of life for many who are experiencing hardtimes in a tough economy and many who have lost their jobs, homes and in some cases hope. This CD is a message to all that there is a rainbow out there for you and never lose faith in what you can do.
1). We Had Some Fun is a song about the fun times and experiences Bruce shared out on the road with bands he traveled with.
2). Johnnie Black Walker is a song about a celebrity who is chased by women, the paparazzi and everyone that wants a piece of his fame.
3).Our Share Of The Blues is about how all of us have lost best friends, been deceived, miss loved ones and face a reality that life is not always fair.
4). Rainbow Over The Rock is the title track and it is about going through hardtimes and hanging in there no matter how hard things get. Never Lose faith in what you can do.
5). There's a New Generation - this song was inspired by an article Bruce read in Rolling Stone Magazine about the vision of change for a new generation and the new political agenda set forth by Barack Obama to address these changes as he ran his race for the presidency.
6). Lost Without Love - is bluesy song reflective of Jim Morrison and The Doors in its style. The song is ultimately about the fact that we all need love and without love we are lost....
7). She's Chunky - is a funky dance rock song with some great saxophone work and a driving beat. The lyrics are written about a woman who is not a supermodel as far as her body goes but is pretty and has it all going on. She's Chunky has a perfect smile and drives the guys wild. This is a fun party dance song and would be great as the anthem for the Oprah Winfrey Show, Wendy Williams Show or Richard Simmons Show. Check this one out and get down with the groove.
8). Winner's Cup is a blues rock style tune with jeff Beck style guitar playing and attitude. The lyrics are about being knocked down and not knowing which way is up.... but getting back on your feet and reaching for the Winner's Cup.
9). Footsteps in the Sand is a jazzy love song featuring some nice flute work and vocals. The lyrics are about two lovers making their way and life together. Every footstep is the sand is a choreographed step in a dance leading down to the sea.
10). Rainbow Love was the last song written for this CD and it is a real uptempo fun song. The song is how a special lover who like angel comes into your life and brings feelings of love that are compared to the spectrum of colors in a rainbow.
The completion of this CD was special to Bruce as he had to overcome many obstacles during its production. He was faced with losing his job, his girlfriend and his home. Forced to move from where he had lived for 28 years with no job, and little support except for the support he got from the members of the band...He never gave up and completed the project. These were hardtimes and this CD is a true accomplishment.
