BRAIN MASSAGE is a work created especially for the many who have had and who will someday have the Brain Massage experience on the famous Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado. Because special care was taken to capture the same holographic feel that is created on the mall, this CD is best experienced with headphones.
Many warm evenings, especially on weekends, Per & Eileen can be found busking the mall, often performing with other musicians. Most who gather 'round and experience the massage have wanted to take home a recording to recreate the experience for themselves as well as treat friends and family members.
This has been an evolutionary work, spanning over 2 years while taking deliberate care to explore the path less traveled. It is our sincerest intent that this CD be healing in countless ways -as many ways as there are listeners -ways that include calming the restless: de-stressing the stressed: soothing troubled souls, bruised spirits and weary minds and bodies, and generally transporting self and mind to a very present and peaceful place within.
This music includes keyboard, violin, hang, throatsinging, overtone singing, tingsha, didj, didg, didje, didge, didjeridu, didgeridu, didjeridoo, didgeridoo (lotsa search possibilities).
And some of our cusomers & fans say;
Hi, Per. This morning I listened to Brain Massage as I was getting ready for my day. It is a treasure. I'm looking forward to deep listening with the headphones. TOM
Mark and I have played the new CD three times today. It is perfect for listening while I work on the website, and I can't wait to lay down with a pair of headphones for a go.
Congratulations on a brilliant album. And I reserve the word album only for a recording that plays beautifully from the first track through to the last. BARRY
I've been listening to it almost every day when I go to sleep. It's very relaxing.
You asked about my favorite song, and I did not have one previously, but I do now. It's Pearl Street Massage. MARTIN
Love the web page, and also really love the new CD. You guys did a great job and it really sounds great. You should be very proud of yourselves and of the CD. GUSTY
I echo Gusty's comments, great CD, different than I expected, and pleasantly surprised. Still spinning it, taking it in. Great musicianship and composition, and a sweet mix by Martin. I wondered why this took so long.... now I understand, a thing of beauty which was worth the wait. Better bring a big box of them to JT ;-) JOHN
Re: Whales; This is beautiful... Truly. I spend 4 months every year with humpbacks .. A lot of my research is underwater so I am often with the singing males. You have done an excellent job.
It is a masterpiece. May I use it in my educational presentations? I have only heard it through the computer speakers (but they're good on the new MAcG4) but I can;t wait to surround myself with the vibrations and deep tones on a good stereo!
You need to go underwater with humpbacks sometime to hear them through your entire body.
You really have captured the essence of their singing. NAN
Looooooooooooooooooooooooooving the CD!! I'm really *in the zone* while listening to it. Tried it on headphones for the first time the other night - WOW. Gave it to my wife as an early anniversary gift this year. She's ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhing now, too! STEVE
I've been listening to Brain Massage for a couple of weeks with total enjoyment. What a fine CD this is, Per! This album exudes a vital and energetic peacefulness, grounded in a strong love of nature and its creatures. We go into the sea with whales, soar over the mountains with eagles, dance with deer, crickets, meadowlarks, hummingbirds, and loll in an alpine meadow. All that, and a trip to the colorful Pearl Street Mall in Boulder for a famous Brain Massage!
There is a spiritual element to this work. Just listen to Per's beautiful, ethereal throat singing on such cuts as Deer Dancer. The didj playing is masterful throughout, with intricate rhythms and subtle expressions. Eileen's hang playing provides another ethereal element. Sandra's violin and Tessalin's keyboard give the CD an almost orchestral feel when that is called for, but mostly the sound of this album to me is that of a very together and intimate quartet.
In addition to music lovers and didj enthusiasts, massage therapists should be interested in this CD--imagine combining body work with a brain massage. What bliss!
TOM
Dear Per, Eileen, Tessalin and Sandra: I can't remember when I was last so enchanted with new music. It has been a long time! Congratulations on such fine work. You are right, the love and intent is coming through very clearly. Presently I am listening for the 11th time and looking forward to more.
As my hearing is naturally tuned to the sounds of nature I am especially impressed how you blended man-made sound with nature, even the whale's breathing sounds real. It makes me exhale when I hear it! I even enjoy the sprinklers! I don't yet have a favorite piece, but I have favorite passages.
I am sending one of your CD's to Best Friends in Arizona. They too care for animals in a loving way.
I am sure many of the volunteers there will resonate with your music. SOLVEIG.
With a unigue balance of elements, Logrhythm is able to recreate visual memories in sound by recreating memories and crafting contextual soundcapes out of the influence of nature. Wonderful stuff! ED
"Hummingbird" sounds excellent through my recording monitors, "brain massage" is a fitting term for sure! Very soothing and relaxing music, great production to boot! bc ic-musicmedia.com/kinaxis
"Brain Massage", in a word, is beautiful. I sincerely mean that. The time, love, crafting that went into it is so obvious and comes pouring out! "Whales" made me a bit misty eyed. Tessalin's "Deer Dancer" made me smile. Its all so well done.... but moreover, conveys exactly your intent. Really shows the condition of your hearts and souls. Founding it touching, inspiring, .... made me stop and consider..... think. My warmest congratulations! Karl
Wow!! I've been listening to Per & Eileen's new CD, Brain Massage... I've heard a lot of recorded didgeridoo music in a variety of styles, but I have to say that this CD comes closest to re-creating an actual live didgeridoo experience.... I get the same feeling listening to this that I do when I hear the didgeridoo played in person... Digital CD sometimes seems to strip music of its most vital qualities, but this is just so rich sonically, with so much spirit....
And, didgeridoo with violin has always been my favorite musical combination... The songs with violin on this CD are just incredibly haunting and evocative... I especially like "Eagles."
It's so evident how much love and creativity went into this CD. It's also evident just how deeply attuned the musicians are with one another.... That's something that can't be contrived or "fixed" in a studio... You feel it if it's there, and these guys have it....
Per, many thanks to you, Eileen, Sandra, and Tessalin.... I sure hope we hear more from you guys soon.... and I can't wait for the next CD!! Carmen
I'm in love with this CD! I -plan to write a complete review and post it here, soon! The CD delivers....I was moved. Smiled alot. Got misty eyed more than a few times... and transported to many different places and times. If you don't know these folks.... our bro & sis, Per and Eileen...you will after you listen to this work! Karl
Per: My favorites so far are Hummingbird, Outta the Blue and Alpine Meadow.
There is a sweet compositional element you guys achieved given the mostly drone fundamental. Really good job. It captures an essence of tranquility of interest that I hink you were going for. Your playing provides a nice push to it all. Alan
My two Cents on Brain Massage:
This is a record that is initially pleasing and relaxing. However, upon additional listenings there is a depth of soul and purpose that shines through and it has the potential to be one of those CD's that become a "reacher". With so many CD's to choose from, only a few become music that you find yourself reaching for again and again. It creates a mood that touches something deep within us. Congratualtions to PETS on their baby. Alan
