Album Notes

"A consummate performer, Jimmy Logston has it all...the voice, the musicianship, and his songs are emotional, powerful, and hopefull, all at the same time.

This CD gives voice to the horrors faced by soldiers in Viet Nam, but, rest assured..this is not your typical "battle" recounting.

These songs lead to the core of human emotion...weak, strong, hopefull or beaten down, there's something here for every listener. Decidedly NOT just another CD" (above review by Karen E. Reynolds, Host, Writer's Block, WDVX, Clinton, TN)

Each line of each song has a meaning and origin, dating back to 1966-67, during Jimmy Logston's tour in Viet Nam.

At the same time, it lyrically spans the years up to the new millennium. The stories pull you into the harsh world of yesterday, then hurl you back into the reality of today.

Through the replease of this CD, Jimmy faces demons and leaves them behind.

Lessons are learned and passed on to a generation that, hopefully, will never have to repeat the past.

REVIEWS

A True Songwriter
author: Rose Hawley
This collection of songs is deeply personal, and ventures into territory even the most committed songwriter is sometimes unwilling to go. I admire the artist as a person and friend, but also respect his musicianship and artistry, as represented by this very personal collection. His life has been about service, to country, to family, to friends, and this album is emblematic of that endless pursuit.

I have seen many today write about Vietnam and didn't experience it at all! Your songs are not detailed enough for a true feeling of the fear and anguish of the war. I was a crewchief and door gunner in Vietnam, and belong to Heli-Vets and Vietnam Helicopter crew members Association.Over 2500 true vets! I also write poetry and song about the The Helicopter war!As a body bagger(Guy in the rear) What is your combat experience? I hope you are not useing the war to advance your profit!!That would dis-Honor many!
