Album Notes

Prepare to embark on a "Blues Odyssey" through the finer side of life a.k.a.; Bars, Cadillacs, Mean Sisters, Bad Women, Angry Landlords and plenty of Vintage Toned Guitar. Lonely Gus and The One Night Stand blend Rockabilly, Jump swing, Spy-surf, Rockin' blues, New Orleans and Jazz together to give this band an original "Bad Relationship" party sound. The album and band are nothing but excellent playing and 100% fun. Join them as they take on some of the more pressing issues of our time with hits like: "Don't Run A Light By A Doughnut Shop" and "You Can't Kill Your Lover With A Shovel".
"Hard Times" is comprised of 11 originals, 2 covers and 3 skits. Taking you from tender love ballads like "There's the Door", "I Miss You Baby (But I Sure Am Glad You're Gone)" or their cover of "I'll Be Glad When You're Dead You Rascal You" To hard core rockin' and swingin' instrumentals like "Dick (Dale that is...)" or "To the Nines" which allow Lonely Gus and Guys to stretch out and play. All in all this album was made to give you some hip sh*% to check out that will make you dance and forget that your wife just left with the kids and the cat!

Think Stray Cats and Reverend Horton Heat. A no-nonsense, get-to-the-point, straight-ahead entertaining album of rockabilly, blues, and swing with no small amount of humor. Lighten up, dust off the dancin' shoes and, sheesh! what are ye waiting for? Check 'em out.

This is the best CD I have in my extensive collection! Gus and the guys really know how to rock . . . and from the sounds of things, have had their share of bad relationships as well! This CD is truly an original and not your run-of-the-mill blues music. A definite must for any music fan!

A kick ass cd. The band is very stray cats/stevie ray like. The skits are lame, but just fast forward through them. No matter how funny a skit is it gets old the next time you hear it. I have listened to the cd many times since I bought it and loved it. I hope they do another cd.
