Lonesome radio Heart, The Basilisk and the Reverend Glen tells the story of a disaffected youth who transforms himself into a religious avatar, one part Charlie Manson, one part Sister Ray and leads his followers to a compound in the Californian desert where he creates a utopia based on transcendence through sex, drugs and rock and roll. When the calvary comes knocking and threatens to destroy the world he created, the reverend Glen allows himself to be swallowed by a giant mythical snake where he resides to this day.
The songs are lyrical, intelligent, sad and layered in folk, harmonies, scratchy howling, stompy beats.
The Basilisk and the Reverend Glen was recorded in the basement of an old candy factory in the warehouse district of San Francisco, Otherwise known as The Belly of the Whale.

Having heard many different projects by Pablo Culpepper...Here with LonesomeRadioHeart..I must say that this is by far the most well recorded, well written, amazingly performed piece of work to date.
I love the journey LonesomeRadioHeart has let us all share with them. The creativity and emotionally charged songs leave you wanting more. My favorites are definitely The Great Beyond, and Weasels and Beasts, but all the tracks are beautiful pieces put together to tell the tale of the Reverend Glen.
